Is marriage desolate?

    Is marriage and love synonymous? 

  What does a healthy marriage look like? 

Marriage at the simplest level means a union between two people whom feel they are the right match for one another, hopefully for the rest of their lives.

On the other hand – the sociology hand—marriage has a deeper social meaning that is socially and legally recognized in reciprocal rightslaws, and socially prescribed notions around deciding marriage.

In other words, for the most part, there are a few understandings we all are aware of when two people enter into this “marriage contract,” such as:

(1) a binding relationship that implies some performance

(2) a legitimizing of this public affair

(3) and a public announcement, undertaken with some knowledge of expected performance.

However, there are many different understandings of marriage and no true universal definition.
