Bow tie underneath a grin

Peeking out as he looks in

To greet the body

Waiting for

His recipe for making sleep.

Rumor.

[ first draft ]

.

Rumor has it

There’s a rumor going round

People, saying things about you,

And, they aren’t sure where they found

The information, maybe someone else they knew

Had heard it first, or thought they did, and told another

‘Til the story grew, and flew,

And, now the whole town knows the tale

Of you

Better find out

What they’re saying, better seize

On every clue, for what they think

They know might just be what you

Do not know is true, and what is not, they don’t know

Either but, what you do not, they believe, and you should

Know this matters more, because

Then liars call it truth, just to

deceive.
